I'm writing to thank you for taking the trouble to review my novel, Ghost Sister. While it's naturally disappointing for me that you disliked the book, I must grit my teeth, don my objective hat and say that it's always useful to have dissenting opinions - how else is one to learn? (plus, it's as nothing to the kicking the novel got when it was in its early drafts. I shall be honest and say that pace was a problem for a number of people).

You obviously take some care over your reviews, and it seems like a good site - I'm a reader as well as a writer, so the more review sites, the better. I've passed the URL round (NOT, please note, so that my mates can write you snide emails) and I'll make sure you get a copy of the next book from me (Empire of Bones, out in April). I confess to a certain masochistic apprehension, but who knows? you might prefer this one and even if you don't like it, I'll be interested to see what you have to say.
